Reviews
(1-25 of 25)RingEX Bring Best of Class VOIP Solutions to SMB's
- Mobile VOIP access
- SMS and Faxing Features
- IVR Menus and advanced call routing
- Call queues and history logs
- Custom rule scheduling can be overly complicated since the last major update
- Support teams can be so eager to follow up that they reach out excessively during weekends while we have informed them we are not open
- Costs have become a bit higher than when we had started working with RingCentral.
RingCentral MVP - Review in Education Setting
It's fast, reliable, easy to set up/use & has been well received by all of the staff in the school.
It provides great flexibility to grow with us, as our requirements continue to grow & evolve. So long as you have an IP based handset & the correct license, you can install a handset wherever there is a PoE enabled ethernet point.
- Easy to use & navigate web interface.
- Simple, yet customisable IVR options.
- A vast wealth of knowledge via the RingCentral University (support is also brilliant!)
- Cost is slightly on the higher end of the spectrum, there are cheaper systems out there, not really aimed at Education in terms of pricing initially.
- Some ELEMENTS on the administrative side are unveiled by digging down into other options. Can be resolved by a "Related Options" links on some menus (admin portal).
- Had never heard of the company until attending BETT show in 2022. Would be good to market towards Education sector more prominantly with Educational discounts/offers.
Not as suitable to smaller businesses as the cost is a big factor which could hold some people back from looking into the system further, which offers a wealth of options to tailor it to your needs.
RingCentral can be set up by someone without a technical background, as customer support is very good & there is a wealth of information via the RingCentral Univeristy so you can learn the system inside & out.
RingEX has unified all our avenues of communication!
- VOIP calling - call quality is excellent and has replaced our traditional landline phones
- Video meetings - video quality is great(provided you have a good webcam) and the video features(multiple hosts, screen sharing, multiple room management) is 2nd to none.
- Screen sharing - As an unexpected benefit, the ability to do a screen share has helped our IT crew in being able to remotely diagnose and fix problems with faculty or staff machines.
- The desktop app updates are somewhat annoying. It seems the desktop app will randomly close and restart when there is a new version pushed out by RingEX. Not a huge deal but it is sometimes annoying to be reading an instant message on the app and it will close/restart without warning.
- I'd like to see the mobile app have an easier way to be offline than logging out of the app entirely. I may want to be able to message using the chat feature but just not accept phone calls. Or have my phone calls go to my desk phone or desktop app but not ring my mobile app in certain situations.
Migrating to a VOIP solution with RingEX.
- Easy to use admin interface.
- Prompt and knowledgeable support staff.
- Provides a cost-effective VOIP solution.
- A telephony partner sitting as a Leader on the Gartner Magic Quadrant.
- More info on the functionality that each available user licence provides.
- Better integration within the Microsoft Teams platform - especially around voicemail management and 'do not disturb' status updates.
- More accurate AI for the text-to-speech voicemail transcription.
Reliable, Affordable, Compatible.
- Configuration Simplicity.
- Reliability
- Support
- Pricing
- Outbound Caller ID while porting should be the number that I’m porting over.
- Can’t forward unanswered queue calls to external number without significant cost.
RingEX Is #1 in Phone/calling and office use.
- Call forwarding
- Custom voicemail
- The platform in general
- I haven't gotten to a particular part that I think needs changing
- I haven't used the service long enough to have big issues
RingEX Excellent Product
- fax
- texting
- calls
- transcribing
- The support is difficult to manage
- The remote attendant can be challenging
- The set up for the requirements for texting were very confusing.
RingEX Solution for SME's
- Receiving calls from clients in Tamale, Ghana - on the farm lands visits
- Getting voicemails from customers who leave messages about their orders
- call forwarding to assistant in the office while not in the office
- Prompt customer service response to issues
- increasing the Text count before you are charged extras
- Caller ID features
overall very satisfied and impressed with RingEX's offerings as a small business owner
- call handling
- unified phone number across all employees calling out
- customization of services
- sometimes the call handling settings can be difficult to navigate
- some customers have told us that our number shows up as a "spam risk" on their caller ID even though this is our same office number we have used for decades
RingEX...Making my work life easier with every call.
- The desktop application is visually pleasing. The recent adjustments have been great improvements.
- The option to use the new features or continue with the previous version has been helpful to get used to the new features or looks.
- The email notifications, with transcripts have been so helpful as well.
- Admin capabilities within the desktop app, instead of being directed to the website.
RingEX is the only communication app you need
- Video meetings
- Faxes
- Text messages
- Voicemails
- Phonecalls
- Integration with mobile devices
- Website access is easy to use
- Applications are easy to use
- The video meeting / integration with Teams is confusing because the Teams app will take over the RC app and launch the meeting. Some are on RC, some are on Teams. it's strange.
- When transferring calls, the receiving telephone does not display who the caller is, except for only showing you who is transferring the call.
- Latency between the telephone and the desktop application could be faster.
My review of RingEX as a very small business owner
- Great desktop application
- Great at keeping you in contact with your customers
- Great at team connections
- I wish I had known that text messaging would be cut off until provisioning that can take a month.
- App could be streamlined with better layout.
A full featured phone system for today's business needs
- System is relatively stable and reliable
- The phones are intuitive and easy to use
- The application interface is easy to use.
- Direct phone calls were not arriving from external callers
- Internal calls could not be transferred.
- Process for approving SMS messaging was cumbersome and confusing.
RingEX offers simplicity and reliability at an affordable price.
- Reliability
- Call Quality
- Ease of Use
- Wide variety of Features
- Cost Effective
- Some features are only configurable by RingEX.
- Some features are locked behind premium licenses.
- Would like to be able to make changes to company numbers without a support call.
Review of RingEX
- Call the staff faster
- know if the person I need to talk is available
- Able to text or video
- the merger the call
- can not define whom is calling
Not Scalable, Don't expect rapid support help.
- SMS and MMS
- FAX (Email to Fax)
- Reliable Voice
- Account Management Simplicity
- Provide a Central Phone System
- Scalable System
- Extremely high level of service - both uptime and quality
- Expansive feature set that is easily managed across all users
- Cloud-based VoIP service so no onsite hardware to become obsolete
- Softphone for PC, Mac, and smartphones for portability and features
- Pre-built "quick-start" templates for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) development
- Caller ID with Name available across all levels of service
- Off-hours cutover of ported phone numbers
- Multi-Platform Communication which works wherever you are - Every detail from how an inbound call is handled to how voice/text messages are relayed to users is completely customize-able based on the user's individual needs, even if that user refuses to learn how to use the application itself!
- Voice/Video conferencing capabilities sufficient enough for most small business users - I rarely need to host a conference call or meeting, although RingEX does make it extremely easy to invite guests even outside the platform via telephone call-in or the conference app.
- Overly complicated for new users - An inexperienced novice user may find the administration side of things a bit overly complicated and confusing. I'd like to see a "simple" and "advanced" set of configuration options, or maybe even a wizard function to walk new users through how to handle incoming calls (ring all devices concurrently, or sequentially, utilize external phone number or keep call within RingEX system, etc).
- More competitive pricing - There are plenty of options on the market. I'd love to see a lower cost business plan for new users with low usage patterns have access to the system for testing purposes before committing to the system for full office use.
Great product at a great price! Easy to to use.
- Easy to use
- Easy to install
- Ease of use for meeting participants
- Slows down computer when running meeting
A solid competitor in a very crowded space.
- RingEX service is solid and resilient to issues.
- RingEX is easy to manage as an admin. Users, login styles, extensions, hardware, extensions, and more are always configurable and it makes it easy to support users.
- RingEX offers many hardware options. It is easy to procure new hardware as well as outfit older hardware with the help of an adapter.
- RingEX keeps pushing people to a user interface that couldn't be less helpful. It is a "collaboration" platform that is fundamentally useless and to get to the actual softphone is sometimes hard to do given that the default is this other option.
- RingEX is not easy to get support as an end-user. Support often blames issues on "jitter" though this is not usually the case.
Centralize your Business Calls with RingEX
- Call forwarding. If I am not near my desk, any calls with forward to my cell phone after two rings on my business line.
- Inter-department calling. If one of my colleagues has a question for me, they can simply go to the Contacts section and have access to calling any members of our company with the click of a button.
- Faxing. In this day and age not many people use faxing, and so when a random situation calls for it I had previously been unable to oblige the partner/client. Now I can send a fax with a simple click of a button, instead of time traveling back to 2002 when fax machines were prevalent.
- There have been moments of dropped calls for no apparent reason, though that have been few and far between.
- There are no announcements given when the system crashes. It doesn't happen often, but it has in the last month or two and created a huge problem for my sales team.
- It would be nice if it were connected to our CRM, or even just a general Caller ID network, as not knowing who is calling can be problematic at times.
Great platform with a variety of services
- Fast to deploy - Once we were signed up, we had soft phones ready to start making calls within minutes
- Good variety of platform - VOIP calls are the main purpose, but having teleconferencing, web conferencing, faxing, voicemail, customizable caller ID, and call recording make it a great suite of services
- Good call quality - Depends on internet connection, but we haven't had any concerns about the call quality other than when there was an internet connection problem
- Device transfer - Transferring the account from one rep to another requires an admin to deauthorize the existing device before the new user has full functionality, which seems unnecessary
- Spam calls - The phone numbers available are probably recycled often, as we commonly receive spam calls on different lines
- Zoho integration - Calling from Zoho CRM results in the rep needing to answer a call and press a button before it actually calls the intended recipient
- The app-based experience for both computers and smartphones is excellent for audio, video, and screensharing
- Unlike many conferencing solutions, it provides one-tap phone number links in invites making it very easy to join from mobile
- It's the most reliable conferencing solution I've used
- It's among the easiest video conferencing/screen sharing solutions for non-users to join successfully the first time
- Love that when you launch a meeting, the invite link is automatically copied to your clipboard
- Some of the configuration options are confusing.
- You can create both a "personal" meeting that always has the same ID and an ad-hoc meeting which has a different ID every time. This causes confusion with new users as the default is ad-hoc versus personal...people often end up on the wrong call the first time they host a meeting.
- There is a feature "touch up my appearance" like a face-smoothing Snapchat filter...I think this is a horrible message to send.
Affordable and highly customizable VOIP with RingEX
- Integrates phone system and meeting platform
- Provides visibility to coworkers availability through HUD
- Excellent VOIP call quality
- It can take a couple minutes for calls to show up in the call log.
- I have experienced reports of incorrect caller id on outbound calls
- Setup of a new extension can be cumbersome.
Good performance and easy to use conference calls
- Audio and video have good quality
- Audio and video controls easy to use
- Calls clearly display callers and call info
- The installed client UI could be easier to use for reviewing messages and deleting them
- Would prefer that product updates not change my preferences like they did once
- Would be nice to have all functionality in the web app so I don’t need to install and run a separate client
