We use RingEX as our primary VOIP solution. It provides us with calling, faxing, SMS, contacts, IVR Menus, etc... both while at the office and while we travel to client locations for work that requires being on site. This allows our team an incredible amount of flexibility and truly adds more value than we had initially expected. Support is great to work with and follow up in a timely fashion.
  • Mobile VOIP access
  • SMS and Faxing Features
  • IVR Menus and advanced call routing
  • Call queues and history logs
  • Custom rule scheduling can be overly complicated since the last major update
  • Support teams can be so eager to follow up that they reach out excessively during weekends while we have informed them we are not open
  • Costs have become a bit higher than when we had started working with RingCentral.
RingEX has been an overall easy to manage and implement solution with minimal issues or downtime as a result of any problems on the backend RingEX side.

We use our Ring Central system as our main school telephony system.
It's fast, reliable, easy to set up/use & has been well received by all of the staff in the school.

It provides great flexibility to grow with us, as our requirements continue to grow & evolve. So long as you have an IP based handset & the correct license, you can install a handset wherever there is a PoE enabled ethernet point.

  • Easy to use & navigate web interface.
  • Simple, yet customisable IVR options.
  • A vast wealth of knowledge via the RingCentral University (support is also brilliant!)
  • Cost is slightly on the higher end of the spectrum, there are cheaper systems out there, not really aimed at Education in terms of pricing initially.
  • Some ELEMENTS on the administrative side are unveiled by digging down into other options. Can be resolved by a "Related Options" links on some menus (admin portal).
  • Had never heard of the company until attending BETT show in 2022. Would be good to market towards Education sector more prominantly with Educational discounts/offers.
Perfect for medium to large sized businesses & establishments.

Not as suitable to smaller businesses as the cost is a big factor which could hold some people back from looking into the system further, which offers a wealth of options to tailor it to your needs.

RingCentral can be set up by someone without a technical background, as customer support is very good & there is a wealth of information via the RingCentral Univeristy so you can learn the system inside & out.

RingEX is our "go to" for VOIP and video meetings in our organization. It's allowed us to streamline the way we communicate and given users many options to do so - physical IP phone, desktop app, mobile app and even a browser-based version. Our faculty and staff can decide what fits their needs the best and use it.
  • VOIP calling - call quality is excellent and has replaced our traditional landline phones
  • Video meetings - video quality is great(provided you have a good webcam) and the video features(multiple hosts, screen sharing, multiple room management) is 2nd to none.
  • Screen sharing - As an unexpected benefit, the ability to do a screen share has helped our IT crew in being able to remotely diagnose and fix problems with faculty or staff machines.
  • The desktop app updates are somewhat annoying. It seems the desktop app will randomly close and restart when there is a new version pushed out by RingEX. Not a huge deal but it is sometimes annoying to be reading an instant message on the app and it will close/restart without warning.
  • I'd like to see the mobile app have an easier way to be offline than logging out of the app entirely. I may want to be able to message using the chat feature but just not accept phone calls. Or have my phone calls go to my desk phone or desktop app but not ring my mobile app in certain situations.
RingEX is great at what it does. It's a unified calling/messaging/video conferencing application that is available on nearly every platform in some way or another. RingEX has made it easier to chat with colleagues faster than email or start up an impromptu video conference in order to work on ideas when our team isn't in the same physical location. It is well-suited for the business environment that it is designed for.

RingEX allowed us to introduce a complete VOIP solution to our organization, using the embedded dialler within Microsoft Teams. Before joining RC, we had an archaic on-premises telephony infrastructure that was no longer fit for purpose. Because the system was so old, all in-house knowledge about how to run it was long gone. We were adjusting beyond adding or removing users who required outside help, which was expensive and often interrupted our staff’s workflows. RingEX has provided a sophisticated phone solution capable of supporting remote and on-campus employees while also providing advanced functionality, scalability with licensing, and, above all, a highly responsive and knowledgeable support team.
  • Easy to use admin interface.
  • Prompt and knowledgeable support staff.
  • Provides a cost-effective VOIP solution.
  • A telephony partner sitting as a Leader on the Gartner Magic Quadrant.
  • More info on the functionality that each available user licence provides.
  • Better integration within the Microsoft Teams platform - especially around voicemail management and 'do not disturb' status updates.
  • More accurate AI for the text-to-speech voicemail transcription.
1 With our old system, making changes like uploading an employee’s voicemail greeting or out-of-office message was a huge undertaking. It usually meant a call to our third-party consultants, a cost, and a wait. RingEX is so intuitive that users can now do those things themselves immediately, from the admin portal, wherever they are. These small things make our staff’s lives more accessible – and add up to more significant benefits for our organization. 2:Our Help Desk Manager oversees a team of university librarians as well as our first-line support engineers. Those teams are running much more efficiently and serving callers much more quickly and conveniently now that our manager can promptly set up new hunt groups or make fast changes to the order of which incoming calls are routed. Thanks to RingEX, we can serve our staff and students more effectively.

We use RingEX at a property management company. We have a small but very busy office so it is necessary that our property owners and tenants are able to reliably reach us when necessary. We’ve had the system for several months now and it has been exactly what we need. It was simple to configure and allowed us to use our existing phones and workflow.
  • Configuration Simplicity.
  • Reliability
  • Support
  • Pricing
  • Outbound Caller ID while porting should be the number that I’m porting over.
  • Can’t forward unanswered queue calls to external number without significant cost.
A managed service provider cannot easily purchase this service and administer/maintain it for their customers. I sometimes assist small businesses with their IT needs, but in order to do this with RingEX, we would have to pay for another user for our technicians to log in to maintain the system for the customer.

RingEX is very user friendly. The admin back end is easy to navigate. When calling customer service they are very helpful and wont end the call until the problem or question is resolved. I would absolutely recommend this service to anyone I know looking for better phone services. Before I chose this product they walked me through the entire process and how it worked before deciding to choose this product.
  • Call forwarding
  • Custom voicemail
  • The platform in general
  • I haven't gotten to a particular part that I think needs changing
  • I haven't used the service long enough to have big issues
I love the technology's they use. The software is up to date and user friendly. The phone they sent us is easy to set up.

We use it for all calls, texting, and faxes. This allowed us to have one number for all of the offices. We have separate lines set up. We can view faxes and messages from the app. The auto attendant creates the illusion of having a much larger and more professional business
  • fax
  • texting
  • calls
  • transcribing
  • The support is difficult to manage
  • The remote attendant can be challenging
  • The set up for the requirements for texting were very confusing.
RingEX is HIPPA compliant. Having a BAA is critical to working in the mental health field. I need to have the ability to text with clients and staff from one place. I can receive and view faxes in real time. Voicemails are transcribed. Being able to set up different lines allows one to specify where calls go. We have message-only voicemails with basic info. We can set to away. Security is easy to set up

Due to the nature of business we have, where we use raw ingredients from plants in West Africa, I have to travel frequently to monitor our contract farmers, hence been able to get my calls on my mobile and laptop always without fail is extremely critical. When I also do trips to the UK, where we also distribute and sell our finished product, Jobelyn, making calls and receiving seamlessly with RingEX is a flawless, except of course if the internet connect is wonky. This convergence solution is necessary and optimal to us by offering connection with clients, customers and prospects while on the move.
  • Receiving calls from clients in Tamale, Ghana - on the farm lands visits
  • Getting voicemails from customers who leave messages about their orders
  • call forwarding to assistant in the office while not in the office
  • Prompt customer service response to issues
  • increasing the Text count before you are charged extras
  • Caller ID features
* Been able to receive my calls at Heathrow Airport on my RingEX mobile app. * Please calls to customers that leave voice messages about their orders that are delayed by USPS * Ignoring spam calls that are labelled already by RingEX

We started using RingEX when our business expanded enough to require multiple phone lines. We previously used business cell phones with each employee having their own number, but we wanted our employees to be able to call out from our main company line and have that phone number show up on the receivers caller ID. The option to have "soft phones" where users just download the RingEX app to their phones and utilize our business services that way has been great. We also really like the customization of call flow and ability to set business hours with dedicated greetings and call handling for different times of the day or holidays.
  • call handling
  • unified phone number across all employees calling out
  • customization of services
  • sometimes the call handling settings can be difficult to navigate
  • some customers have told us that our number shows up as a "spam risk" on their caller ID even though this is our same office number we have used for decades
RingEX app being portable across devices has been really great as well as streamlining our call flow. We especially like the customization of call handling we can set up for various circumstances, like holiday hours or other schedule adjustments.

We use RingEX as our main source of phone calls, faxes, and interoffice communication. While the texting feature was useful for a time, after the jump in solicitation, texts crossed with the owner's personal messages, and the added cost implemented by federal/state, we decided to cease the use of this feature.
  • The desktop application is visually pleasing. The recent adjustments have been great improvements.
  • The option to use the new features or continue with the previous version has been helpful to get used to the new features or looks.
  • The email notifications, with transcripts have been so helpful as well.
  • Admin capabilities within the desktop app, instead of being directed to the website.
RingEX has been so helpful when I moved remotely part-time. I was able to answer calls from my existing extension through my laptop, and it made the transition seamless, especially for those still in the office to dial my extension as usual. What doesn't work well is when others within the company aren't interested in using the system to its full capabilities. Trying to figure out how to get everyone on board has been a feat and one we've failed at.

Summit Therapeutic Services (Summit) uses RingEX every hour, of every day. We talk on the phone from anywhere we want, create text messages, and even send out faxes to clients that still have that in their offices. The best part of all this? We can do it all from our mobile phone, at the lift of a finger. The service provided really spoils you and when you don't have it accessible, it makes you say, "I wish I could use my RingEX because it just works so well." This is not a joke because when running a business, no matter the service provided, communication management is very important because ideas, directives, and messages still need to be sent and received. These basic services we use every day, they aren't so basic, and RingEX manages them all seamlessly. Summit will continue using RingEX and the services they provide are invaluable to the organization.
  • Video meetings
  • Faxes
  • Text messages
  • Voicemails
  • Phonecalls
  • Integration with mobile devices
  • Website access is easy to use
  • Applications are easy to use
  • The video meeting / integration with Teams is confusing because the Teams app will take over the RC app and launch the meeting. Some are on RC, some are on Teams. it's strange.
  • When transferring calls, the receiving telephone does not display who the caller is, except for only showing you who is transferring the call.
  • Latency between the telephone and the desktop application could be faster.
Simply because it integrates so well with your mobile device, RingEX is suitable for video meetings, even encrypted ones, faxes, text messages, phone calls. On the plane flying somewhere and the client needs a document faxed over? You can do it quickly. Need to send over a picture from your device and you don't have your phone? You can do it from the computer. Need to take a break and focus on your family and other activities? You can log out and let the voicemail take care of it, even sending you an email that you can check, since I know many people still check their emails when on vacation! LOL

I use RingEX to incorporate a landline and cell line into one call software. I use it for training as we can record the conversations. We no longer have to juggle multiple phones as they all come through our RingEX. It is good for keeping up with your callers and call tracking.
  • Great desktop application
  • Great at keeping you in contact with your customers
  • Great at team connections
  • I wish I had known that text messaging would be cut off until provisioning that can take a month.
  • App could be streamlined with better layout.
RingEX is better for larger organizations. It has a lot of Team features. As a small business of 2, those fetures are not of use to me. I mainly have this to combine a land line and cell line into 1 communication software for better call tracking and to be able to record my calls.

  • The application interface is easy to use.
  • Direct phone calls were not arriving from external callers

My company has a demo kit that we use to demo the product for sales purposes. I am also the lead engineer for all RingEX implementations that my company sells to clients. This product just works. It may be a bit pricy with the subscription model, but RingEX has always worked with us to get the best deals for our clients. I have replaced multiple phone systems with RingEX and, in my opinion, the clients are always much happier with RingEX.
  • Reliability
  • Call Quality
  • Ease of Use
  • Wide variety of Features
  • Cost Effective
  • Some features are only configurable by RingEX.
  • Some features are locked behind premium licenses.
  • Would like to be able to make changes to company numbers without a support call.
High user count will increase the monthly cost, at a certain point, on premise systems will be more cost effective. For most low-mid user counts, I think this is a great product with high reliability and ease of use. Phones that are purchased from RingEX require little to no configuration prior to provisioning them with RingEX.

We have been using RC for many years now, the initial setup was very difficult, making sure the lines rang in the right Extensions, Desk-phones, etc. This system is not scalable. If you have a company with many employees and you want all the outside calls to show the same caller ID, look somewhere else for service, you can't do this with RC. Getting someone in tech support is really difficult, the voice prompt system is terrible, and don't forget your six-digit pin for checking the voicemail because you will go in circles and be unable to bypass the "pin" requirement to speak with someone, in fact, is like they really don't want you to speak with someone, once you have someone in the line they are nice and try to help you. The new desktop app is glitchy, I get missed call notifications after a couple of hours, We have to download images before we can just print or print to PDF, sometimes this creates the app to freeze. Lastly, I write a lot in Spanish to Spanish-speaking clients, I can't write the letter "ñ", No Bueno. You Can't save contacts across all users, each user has to save their own contact, and they do not sync.
  • SMS and MMS
  • FAX (Email to Fax)
  • Reliable Voice
  • Account Management Simplicity
  • Provide a Central Phone System
  • Scalable System
In my opinion, RC is a good choice for a 1 Phone Line/User or maybe 2. But once you start adding users is not a good choice.

We use RingEX daily in our organization across all members of the team. RingEX has been our phone system since 2005, and has continued to satisfy with their high level of service and ever-expanding arsenal of features. RingEX is our single portal for truly unified communications - phone, fax (yes, that is still a thing!), texting, conference call, video, webinar, and collaboration (team) software. It works across all platforms seamlessly; from deskphone to flip phone.
  • Extremely high level of service - both uptime and quality
  • Expansive feature set that is easily managed across all users
  • Cloud-based VoIP service so no onsite hardware to become obsolete
  • Softphone for PC, Mac, and smartphones for portability and features
  • Pre-built "quick-start" templates for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) development
  • Caller ID with Name available across all levels of service
  • Off-hours cutover of ported phone numbers
RingEX excels for us in office environments where everyone has/needs an individual phone (either desk or via their computer). It is also uniquely suited for situations where workers may move between offices, work from home either during the day or after hours, or be on call in the evenings or weekends. The capabilities of the smartphone app means you are always on the office phone system, even showing a Caller ID as your office when calling a prospect, client, etc. This has been a surprising and much-liked feature for attorney's who don't want to expose their cell or home phone numbers in a call. Located in a hurricane-prone state, RingEX is ideal for their resiliency to disaster that can keep local businesses connected and working after a hurricane. Having experienced that multiple times in the last 16 years with RingEX, I can say that they have always worked flawlessly for us.

RingEX is currently used as the central communication hub for the entire business. All inbound customer calls enter the RingEX system and handling depending on the time of day. Additionally, we were able to eliminate 99.99% of robocall spam through the implementation of the AutoAttendant system, requiring the user to press zero to speak to the operator.
  • Multi-Platform Communication which works wherever you are - Every detail from how an inbound call is handled to how voice/text messages are relayed to users is completely customize-able based on the user's individual needs, even if that user refuses to learn how to use the application itself!
  • Voice/Video conferencing capabilities sufficient enough for most small business users - I rarely need to host a conference call or meeting, although RingEX does make it extremely easy to invite guests even outside the platform via telephone call-in or the conference app.
  • Overly complicated for new users - An inexperienced novice user may find the administration side of things a bit overly complicated and confusing. I'd like to see a "simple" and "advanced" set of configuration options, or maybe even a wizard function to walk new users through how to handle incoming calls (ring all devices concurrently, or sequentially, utilize external phone number or keep call within RingEX system, etc).
  • More competitive pricing - There are plenty of options on the market. I'd love to see a lower cost business plan for new users with low usage patterns have access to the system for testing purposes before committing to the system for full office use.
I am a big fan of the RingEX system. I previously researched and integrated RingEX at a former company before starting my own business. The system is extremely flexible and versatile. It's easy to expand the system as the company grows. Perfect for a small business expecting to grow in the future. I think it's the perfect communication tool for any small to medium size business looking for a business phone system.

RingEX is used as our phone system throughout the company, so callers can get to the right employee when calling our main toll free number. We also use RingEX for online meetings so that participants can call into the same line and view the leader's screen during the session. We also use RingEX Meetings for customer support so that we can troubleshoot on the client's computers.
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to install
  • Ease of use for meeting participants
  • Slows down computer when running meeting
RingEX is a cost-effective call system for small to medium businesses. It might not be suited for large companies. The meetings add-in allows users to start online meetings on the fly quickly. It is particularly helpful that you can switch hosts so that you can see different users' screens during meetings, which is something we did not see in competition at the same price level.

RingEX is our current VoIP provider and telecommunications system. It is used by employees to make and take calls, by our support team to route calls and act as a group, by our operations team to route and forward calls as well as collect using a group number, and by sales to make outbound calls.
  • RingEX service is solid and resilient to issues.
  • RingEX is easy to manage as an admin. Users, login styles, extensions, hardware, extensions, and more are always configurable and it makes it easy to support users.
  • RingEX offers many hardware options. It is easy to procure new hardware as well as outfit older hardware with the help of an adapter.
  • RingEX keeps pushing people to a user interface that couldn't be less helpful. It is a "collaboration" platform that is fundamentally useless and to get to the actual softphone is sometimes hard to do given that the default is this other option.
  • RingEX is not easy to get support as an end-user. Support often blames issues on "jitter" though this is not usually the case.
RingEX is solid as a platform and does offer a full host of features to end-users and admins alike. It would fit well in many medium to large organisations who need IVR, call routing, answering services, hunt groups, and more. It is not very well suited for small companies or those with large call centres.

RingEX is being used across my entire company. Whether it be the executive team, the sales department, the account manager department or the marketing department. It solves the issue of needing business lines separate from our personal numbers to communicate with current and prospective clients. We are able to utilize call forwarding, texting, faxing, and any other communication medium we need to. It allows for an organized structure that was lacking in other VOIPs we had used previously.
  • Call forwarding. If I am not near my desk, any calls with forward to my cell phone after two rings on my business line.
  • Inter-department calling. If one of my colleagues has a question for me, they can simply go to the Contacts section and have access to calling any members of our company with the click of a button.
  • Faxing. In this day and age not many people use faxing, and so when a random situation calls for it I had previously been unable to oblige the partner/client. Now I can send a fax with a simple click of a button, instead of time traveling back to 2002 when fax machines were prevalent.
  • There have been moments of dropped calls for no apparent reason, though that have been few and far between.
  • There are no announcements given when the system crashes. It doesn't happen often, but it has in the last month or two and created a huge problem for my sales team.
  • It would be nice if it were connected to our CRM, or even just a general Caller ID network, as not knowing who is calling can be problematic at times.
If you rely on cold calling or phone calls in general for your business, a VOIP is necessary. We have tried out several other choices that promised bells and whistles, while RingEX was the one to offer the basics done well. There isn't much as far as fancy add ons go that we are utilizing, but when making phone calls and leaving voicemails, or text messages, it is simple and direct. If you do not have a need for masses of phone calls or a way to separate personal and business calls then there would be no need for it.

We use RingEX for pharmaceutical marketing/promotion. We have a team of sales reps who use it to call remote areas across Canada and needed something that would allow them to make these calls from home with some tracking tools for monitoring their activities. Prior to using RingEX, we would simply have the reps use cell phones, but having RingEX integrated into our CRM makes that process much easier and more efficient. RingEX is low-cost, easy to deploy, and offers a good suite of tools for our sales reps to communicate in a variety of ways with the teleconferencing, webinars, and faxing.
  • Fast to deploy - Once we were signed up, we had soft phones ready to start making calls within minutes
  • Good variety of platform - VOIP calls are the main purpose, but having teleconferencing, web conferencing, faxing, voicemail, customizable caller ID, and call recording make it a great suite of services
  • Good call quality - Depends on internet connection, but we haven't had any concerns about the call quality other than when there was an internet connection problem
  • Device transfer - Transferring the account from one rep to another requires an admin to deauthorize the existing device before the new user has full functionality, which seems unnecessary
  • Spam calls - The phone numbers available are probably recycled often, as we commonly receive spam calls on different lines
  • Zoho integration - Calling from Zoho CRM results in the rep needing to answer a call and press a button before it actually calls the intended recipient
RingEX is great if making a large volume of calls or all of its services are useful to a business, such as in our case. For users just wanting a softphone (no webinar, telecon, etc.) there are cheaper options available. However, many competitors charge for call time by the minute, which can easily shoot costs way higher than RingEX if making a lot of calls (our users make around 40 calls/day).

RingEX is used by our entire organization as both our general phone system and for audio conference calls and video conferencing. Our workforce has become 40% remote, so video conferencing and screen sharing is very important, and this works very well (RingEX app is white labeled Zoom). By using both softphones and physical phones, we were able to completely replace our Asterisk-based PBX system with more features and reliability.
  • The app-based experience for both computers and smartphones is excellent for audio, video, and screensharing
  • Unlike many conferencing solutions, it provides one-tap phone number links in invites making it very easy to join from mobile
  • It's the most reliable conferencing solution I've used
  • It's among the easiest video conferencing/screen sharing solutions for non-users to join successfully the first time
  • Love that when you launch a meeting, the invite link is automatically copied to your clipboard
  • Some of the configuration options are confusing.
  • You can create both a "personal" meeting that always has the same ID and an ad-hoc meeting which has a different ID every time. This causes confusion with new users as the default is ad-hoc versus personal...people often end up on the wrong call the first time they host a meeting.
  • There is a feature "touch up my appearance" like a face-smoothing Snapchat filter...I think this is a horrible message to send.
If you need an all-in-one solution (phone system plus conferencing plus screen share, plus video) it works very well. Talking to our IT team, the product seems to have a lot of features focused at call centers and messaging that we don't use, but require reconfiguration anyway.

We use RingEX across the organization. We are a relatively small company and RingEX was very easy to set up. We use the RingEX softphone in most instances however we also have purchased Polycom phones at some desks. RingEX Meetings integrates with the RingEX phone system and I can easily set up and join meetings from the interface.
  • Integrates phone system and meeting platform
  • Provides visibility to coworkers availability through HUD
  • Excellent VOIP call quality
  • It can take a couple minutes for calls to show up in the call log.
  • I have experienced reports of incorrect caller id on outbound calls
  • Setup of a new extension can be cumbersome.
It's great for mobile users. You can install the phone app and provide a Bluetooth headset and users can make calls from the company wherever they may be.

We use RingEX across our entire organization consisting of a main office and several remote employees. We use it daily for scrum stand ups, one-on-one conversations, company-wide conference calls and client calls.
  • Audio and video have good quality
  • Audio and video controls easy to use
  • Calls clearly display callers and call info
  • The installed client UI could be easier to use for reviewing messages and deleting them
  • Would prefer that product updates not change my preferences like they did once
  • Would be nice to have all functionality in the web app so I don’t need to install and run a separate client
RingEX is well suited to any size organization where people need to schedule future conference calls or start an unscheduled call with the option of video for none, some or all participants.
